Goals/Success
- To travel across the country as sustainably and environmentally conscious as possible
- Educate and inspire children, families, and communities about living sustainably
- Show the world that being an environmentalist is cool and easy
- Create a documentary that captures the experience of 10 young adults on a journey to make the world a better place
- Offer resources and solutions for individuals to camp “green” and responsibly at a 100,000 person music festival
- Create a communal art project that will be made by the people we meet across the country with the theme: “How can you make the world a better place?
- Create leaders in the environmental movement
- Give people tools and workshops to use in their life to become a better “me” and make the world a better place
- Create a website with updates on our journey, the project, and the team: with video and blog journals featuring information and links to learn how to live green
- Set an example
- Teach people about our passions
- Lead discussions that will inspire people to develop and explore their own passion in life to make the world a better place
How will we measure success?
- “Chillaroo” The full-length feature documentary
- Website: Hits and traffic.
- Chillaroo Art Exhibit: Features the communal art made throughout the journey at each location we visit, by the different communities involved. A collective answer to the questions “How will you make the world a better place”
- The level of greening of Bonnaroo and the campgrounds
- The amount of waste diverted on our journey, the total carbon emitted in the process, and the ways we offset that carbon
- The online community created out of the experience via email addresses and contacts
- The level of excitement, cooperation, and involvement of the organizations we work with and those who attend our interactive workshops
- A picture book with quotes and ideas that people have to make the world a better place
- The collection of workshops and trainings developed from project
